media contacting us

We need a system for the media to contact us. It must

  1. be text based so we can think over our replies
  2. allow several people to read questions and reply
  3. have a system to prevent several separate responses to the same question

Possible solutions:

Press E-mails an address. This E-mail ends up on a password protected forum. The forum can be both used for cordination and discussing replies.

  • I think e-mail would be a good option, have one person in charge (you? me?) and they can then delegate responsibility to whoever can respond --Ehm 07:26, 25 May 2006 (PDT)
    • I'm trying to avoid one person being in charge, otherwise if I forget to check for a day we miss a deadline. -Tortanick
      • This could be avoided by have one e-mail address and having more than one person be able to log in - of course we'd have to flag each e-mail we're working on to avoid duplicates. --Ehm 08:16, 25 May 2006 (PDT)
      • Problem is too many hands in the barrel does takes alot of time and can cause problems. I am all for being open, but you don't let janitors with no coding experiance write code for linux, so why are you going to let people with no Press experience write responses to the press. We need a single spokesperson who can become familiar with the press and be able to contact them quickly in an emergency.--Unit1911 08:24, 25 May 2006 (PDT)
        • I'd assumed that we may get too many requests for a single person but you're right, until then one spokesperson is the best decision.
          • Then we go to a round robin of some type, E-mail is sent to a single address and the first available PIO who checks in moves it to thier folder and handles the request--Unit1911 09:27, 25 May 2006 (PDT)
